COVID-19 Study
Be a participant and help us learn about the immune system defenses against re-infection with SARS-CoV-2 to develop effective treatments and inform vaccination strategies
What is the study?
We are investigating the immune memory response to SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) in adults who have recovered from mild COVID-19. This immune memory may help the body fight off the virus in the future. We are also investigating how previously SARS-CoV2 infected adults respond to COVID-19 vaccines compared to adults who were not previously infected.
What would happen if I participated?
You would provide 20-50 mLs of blood (about a few teaspoons) at several blood draws at 1, 3, 9 and 12 months after COVID-19 infection. If you enroll in the vaccine arm of the study, you would be invited for blood draws 1 week before your first vaccine dose, 1 week after your last dose and 2-4 months later to track how your antibodies and immune memory cells specific for SARS-CoV-2 change over time and respond to vaccination.
You will also be asked to fill out a questionnaire surveying COVID-19 symptoms, potential exposures, COVID-19 tests and COVID-19 vaccination as relevant.
This will take about 30 minutes per visit.
Would the study be a good fit for me?
This study might be a good fit if one of the below are true:
• You have previously had a nasal or throat swab for a SARS-CoV-2 test that came back positive.
• You have previously had a nasal or throat swab for a SARS-CoV-2 test that came back positive and are planning to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
• You have not previously tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and are planning to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
You are eligible to participate if:
• You are well enough to go to work
• You can tolerate blood draws
• You are 18-80 years old
If interested in participating, please email us at [email protected].
Thank you to all of our participants, who have so generously donated their time to help our study.
